Help with SYD-JNB-LHR-SYD

Hello,

I have a trip coming up to JNB and from there to LHR in J class, I dont know what type of ticket my company will buy (xONEx etc) but should definately be with OW partners.

Is there a possibility to add more sectors to the routing to maximise the FF & SC earn rate without incurring any extra costs (as any extra costs & taxes get charged to me)

Also was wondering if I could get a stopover in BOM on the way from LHR to SYD

Hi Andy, I would suggest the famous DONE4 for the trip which allows you 20 sectors (16 for e-ticket and ease) and allows for flexibility.

It would be possible for you to fly SYD-JNB-LHR-LAX/JFK-SYD as a base for the trip and throw in some more side trips if you so wish. As travel must be in a forward, continuous direction between continents, you would need to come home via North America and not travel LHR-SYD as this isn't around the world.

If you would like to include BOM though, you could look at SYD-BOM-HGK-JNB which allows you to travel to BOM on the way to JNB. To do this would require a DONE5 however and a few more $$$.

Alternatively a four continent explorer fare might be the way to go:

oneworld - Circle Trip Explorer

It is still roughly the same price as a DONE4 but you could then do BOM - somehow

syd-jnb-lhr-bom-hkg-syd

Easier than going to the US.

Gives 2400 QFF SC's or nearly 99,000 AA Qpoints.

And see what interesting routing the luggage takes to find its way back to SYD a few weeks later.

It does depend on what type of ticket that they purchase and who they purchase from. If they get QF to issue it, for example, there will be extra fuel surcharges for each additonal sector which is added along with any extra taxes.

As far as whether it can be done, need to know what type of ticket that you have

For JNB - LHR and reverse you need to book your D class ticket early, those flights are hewavily booked. In 2006 I booked 4 months out and was on a wait list which I was advised to look elsewhere which I did and did LHR-MAD-JNB. Business on Ibera is very good, they have new FLAT BEDS and I mean flat.
