The QF office in Jakarta have never booked a DONE4 or Circle Pacific fare.. It's fast becoming a can of worms.

First I got a price + tax, then found out they used the 29,000 mile fare and not the 26,000 mile fare. (She saw I had 7 stops so just used the 29k fare as it has 6 free stops - but this doesn't work!)

Second, I have a concern they haven't even checked my routing. If they used the 29k fare they should have got an error when they checked the routing (my route does not go through south america)

Third, I have changed my route so that I only have 2 additional stops in the USA, yet she still hasn't even charged the additional stops in the fare calculation.

Any ideas what the agent should do?

With the QF Jakarta office, you have to pay in person then an E ticket will be issued. My wife is planning on flying there farely soon to sort out the payment.

I am worried that when my wife is there and has paid for it, an eticket cannot be issued because there maybe an error in the routing, which hasn't even been checked!

thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Hi Chucksta, methinx you'll be the "Guinea Pig" for ex CGK bookings.

 Maybe you need to ensure the booking meets all the rules before paying for it; that would take one worry out of the situation.

By using QF Jakarta arent you eroding some of the savings that you hoped to make by not paying Ex-Oz due to fuel surcharges?

the taxes are around $400 USD.. i thought that was pretty good...

i was talking to qf009 last night. He has suggested cancelling the booking with QF and calling the CX office in jakarta and get them to book. They are meant to be much more professional.

The QF office booked us into A class from LAX-SYD on QF... I don't think they understand the fare rules at all for DCIR fare.

There was a thread on flyer talk complaining about the QF office in jakarta

Any competent travel agents in Jarkata to issue DCIR29SA - FlyerTalk Forums

Base DCIR26 costs:

ex Oz:
  • AUD9,099
ex Indonesia:
  • USD4,656 (~AUD5127)

Have to cancel the booking with QF Jakarta. Going to use CX office instead.

Waiting for CX to check the routing and give me a price...

QF JKT never checked the routing to begin with.... It's like.. give them the 29,000 mile fare and 7 stops.. no problem... But i'm actually after the 26,000 mile fare!!

If you are thinking of booking a OW product ex Jakarta..... Don't even consider using the QF office in Jakarta. QF seem to sub-contract to a local travel agency and they don't really seem interested.

After a week of nonsense and a complete waste of my time I cancelled the booking and went through CX Jakarta (which is a proper CX office).

It is like night and day... CX are so much more professional and actually know the fare rules.
THey were able to give me a quote within a few hours (not like the 3 days QF took, and ended up using the wrong fare and charging incorrect stop overs).

The other advantage, CX Jakarta were willing to take my CC over the phone. QF Jakarta said I had to pay for it in person (which i was willing to do with an award ticket) since its $4k cheaper booking ex Indonesia!
