Help virgin lost luggage

Sorry to read of your plight, virgin never again - it is distressing to lose a bag. I had one of mine go astray in Paris - apparently BA didn't bother to look at the transit tag and forward it on - heaven knows how many laps of the luggage carousel it did at Heathrow.

As NM asked/suggested - travel insurance will cover you for the cost of missed luggage, including payments for daily replacement costs etc.

Some people might quibble or deride the thought of insurance - but after my experience in Paris, like clean underwear in my carry-on, I never leave home without it!

What a nightmare! I hope that they either find your bag or compensate you for your loss and time..

Is it really the case that airlines do not compensate for clothing? I would be pretty devastated if they lost some of my clothes!

No - I think you misread some of the prior posts.

Be aware that the value specified for new items will more than likely be depreciated in any settlement. So it is important within the claim to specify for each item whether the price is for a new purchase or a current depreciated value (estimated).

I have actually managed to get a letter of apology for the treatment by the staff (they scanned the calls) and must have found the "coughhole" comment.
I.

I'm sure that person will get a very stern talking to, probably an official warning...

What's the world coming to! Jetstar punching people, Virgin swearing at people and hanging up... ;)

I think Nicole will be needing to reassess her reasons for her decision not to provide documentation at the airport as well.:-|
