Help Reqd: Bonus Status Credits from Velocity Amex Platinum

Hi All,

This is my first post to this forum & I need some help from you guys.

I got an offer from Velocity around getting bonus points and status credits if I apply for Velocity Amex Plat card and get get approved. I got approved on 19th October and did meet the $500 spend threshold in by the 1st week of November.

I received 30K points on the next day of me reaching the $ spend, however I am still awaiting my status credits. Does anyone have any information around how long does it take before the SC's get credited. This will take me to Gold

I received two......both were for 200sc + 241 & a bunch of other stuff.

Two offers last year for me, both with 200 SC carrots (as a WP).

SWMBO as an SG received 100 SC offers.

This was yet another VA farce. Status is supposed to be a reward for loyal frequent flyers in my book.......not shopaholics.......or worse still CC hoarders.

To the OP, I'd be chasing up Velocity on them about now.

Received another one a few months later for exactly the same offer.

Never took it up - I'm one of those locked in QF types.

Surely the bolded part effectively rules out all but the targeted chosen ones? I can state this VA Gold FF didn't recieve it (yet again). I'd be curious to know how each lucky recipient first made their status.......I wonder if most were matched originally

There is a CX branded? Amex that provides elite status based on the card alone.

I think that is the trick our friend shayne used to gain status with a fair few airlines (yet still complained when QF wouldn't have a bar of his status match request)

I received it as a VA Gold FF but didn't take it up. From what i understood it was a targeted offer to those who did receive it . I earned my VA Gold status the " hard , self funded , no status match" way.

Well that's great to hear. Perhaps some sense of fair play is starting to dawn on the VA clowns who look after status.

I'm withdrawing from this debate before I let my feelings for VA become disruptive.

I "was" matched - Plat......now matched - Gold

I was matched Plat, now downgraded Gold but will be BIS WP by July.

Tried emailing the Velocity folks...got a standard response to wait until 4-6 weeks (which have already gone by)...
