Help - QF customer service not ticketing properly - lost award seats

Update - still no call from Hobart. Emailed 3 times now.

I've been calling in the mean time though and one of the agents 2 days ago said the ticket was confirmed and they'd advised the ticketing team to get it ticketed. While I was sceptical I became optimistic that my ordeal would finally be over.

Nope.

Call again today for an update and the agent said that the previous agent made an error and the ticket is not yet confirmed so it is not eligible for ticketing yet.

Its like talking to a brick wall.

Needless to say I am never flying Qantas again.

I spoke to Sri Lankan directly and as @jpp42 rightly pointed out, they have no obligation to reinstate the seat and almost definitely won't. I don't blame them.

I understand @andrewh3 took them to NCAT and got some compensation so I'll see how I go there, as I'm out of pocket $1000s now. Sent you a dm mate.

Anyone else with any info./tips on the NCAT let me know.

Can I tag on a related question to this thread (acknowledging it’s a common question these days!): I booked JL51 today using points by phone (it generated an error online). There was some trouble ticketing it, but they finally managed to take the taxes off my card, but no points. How long until I should call back to make sure it’s ticketed? RJ.com isn’t showing an e-ticket number.
 
I booked a domestic flight in Canada, and a few hours after it hadn't ticketed I had to call up to get it ticketed. It's unfortunate that a simple online domestic one-way flight needs manual ticketing, when surely that is the easiest to do

Hmm. I booked a WestJet flight a few days ago online too, and it took around 20 hours for it to ticket. I'll admit I was pretty tempted to call up too, but it did get ticketed eventually.

I have filed a NCAT case against Qantas for abondening us mid way through our iteniary. We have a concilliation meeting in a weeks time, so will see how we go. I posted some notes in an article. Will send you the link

Have a J OneWorld award, booked for October, for the wife and myself, BNE-DOH-DUB. DUB-LHR-FCO. FCO-LHR. LHR-PHL-ORD-CVG. CVG-PHX-LAX-BNE

I received an email on Thursday night, BA had changed a flight by 15mins, same flight number. Email states

"Sit back and enjoy the journey,
The good news is these changes have been automatically updated and don't need to do anything.

So this morning i checked my QFF account, to see the first leg, BNE-DOH-DUB is now missing!!

6am call to QFF this morning, only option agent ( Manilla i think) gives me is to cancel and refund me the trip!! Told her about the email saying i didnt need to do anything and enjoy my trip! Whilst on the phone, i searched QFF website, and could see the same reward BNE-DOH-DUB available. Ask call centre to please book and ticket whilst i wait on the phone. CC agent books flights but says not possible to ticket and would be sent to be ticketed within 24-48hrs. Ok i said, and then end the call.

I immediately call back and explain the whole situation again, and request the whole trip be ticketed while i wait. About 20 mins in, call drops out.

I call back, and speak to i think SA agent, go thru the whole deal again, but this time, agent say will have ticketed whilst i wait. Have to give my CC details again unsure why ? 90mins later i have an Eticket, confirmed on CMT. Then calling up QR again, to have middle Qsuit seats selected.

Now ive had bigger changes with AA cancelling and rebooking on different flights thru different airports which were all fine and no loss of ticketing.

So stressful, just thinking about if i hadnt seen the flights drop. Wasted my morning ( missed out on a car club run )

What hope does the average flyer have, if they rock up to the airport and they have no ticket?

What are your rights in this situation?

All this over a 15min flight change!

Glas you got it sorted. There appears to be a disconnect between the emails, their content. and what appears on MMB. I had an aircraft change on a QF booking, no change in timing, and the booking as presented in MMB claimed change I had to accept. Figured eventually the only change was new seating. No email from QF at all, and IIRC this wasn’t the first instance of no email alert.
 
Had another change to an AA flight this morning, but had the “change to your flight “email and confirmation and e ticket email arrive at the same time. That’s how it should work.
