Hi all

I am planning a trip to the UK and Cyrpus next year and am just trying to work out how many points I am going to have to burn. There are two options being considered for three people in J. I am expecting to make P1 which might help making the awards available.

SYD - LHR (stop) - LCA (stop) - LHR - SYD

Or

SYD - HKG (stop) - LHR (stop) - LCA (stop) - LHR - SYD (alternatively HKG could've at the end of the trip).

I know SYD-LHR-SYD is 252K per person but I am wondering if a Oneworld award might be able to do the whole trip for the same / similar price.

Thanks for any help.

Oneworld award points tables

Stopovers are not an issue (other than max 5) but the total distance is in the Zone 10 band - i.e. Highest.

Great Circle Mapper

However, you have another 9700 miles available so you may be able to tag some trips, remembering:
14.3.5 A Classic Award Itinerary must contain no more than one departure from the city or country of first departure on that Itinerary.

Can't seem to find the table showing band that has 25K miles in it.

The post I linked to is part of a specific thread on the QFF oneworld award.

A link is in that post - however, QF seem to have changed the actual link from #jump2 to #jump3 - Just scroll down.

(FWIW, I've edited that post)

Looks like the jump from Zone9 to Zone10 is a doozy ...

Ok thanks for that - I obviously didn't scroll down far enough :)

So if possible it would be 840K points but I would have to use two carriers other than QF. Being P1 I could then in theory get QF to release the awards I need for three legs and then hope I could get awards on BA and CX.

Thanks as always.
