Hi

Great site!!

My wife and kids went around the world via Star Alliance Dec '06/Jan'07 but never registered for a frequent flyer program with any of the airlines with which they flew.

Do you guys know if you can still register with an airline for a frequnt flyer card and back date your air miles to those newly opened accounts???? The individual airlines used were Air New Zealand, UA, Air Canada, BMI and Thai Airways.

Thanks in advance

Most airlines do not allow points accrual on flights taken before joining.

Some airlines (I believe Qantas does) allows flights backdated around a month from joining.

I'm not sure about the particulars of each of the Star Alliance members you mention. Someone else here may know a loophole that you can use to join and earn the points.

Air NZ used to let you claim for flights before you joined. I think the limit was 1 month

Might be worth a phone call

From the Singapore Air website:

Retroactive mileage claims that are made prior to enrolment in KrisFlyer are only valid for Singapore Airlines flights and must have taken place no longer than 30 days prior to enrolment.

Welcome to AFF barsle :)

Unfortunate not getting mileage for that trip. Most FFPs I know either allow no credit before joining or 1 month. However, if the flight was in business or first you may be able to get lucky.
