I would really appreciate any thoughts on how to manage our 2013 OS family trip in June / July.
Mrs G is very keen on this itinerary as it means on at least 1 long haul leg she will have help wrangling baby and toddler.
We aim to travel J or at least Y+ wherever possible, our normal M.O. for family travel is QF Y+ sale booking and then use points to upgrade. We have about 300 000 QFF points. I'm QF WP and Velocity Plat but none else has status.
With this trip though we cant stretch beyond economy tickets. We would be on 2 different PNR's so upgrades impossible.
So does anyone have any ideas for how we could do the travel above, together, in J or Y+, for Y prices?
Happy to fly other airlines to achieve this, but circuitous routings are no good as we have the 2 small children. I have looked (hard) at US Dividend miles, but availability wasn't there and successful routings tend to be circuitous.
- Mrs G, toddler, and baby G travel from Sydney to Glasgow to visit Grandma in mid June
- GCC travels Sydney - Vancouver for meetings July 4 - 11
- GCC travels Vancouver - London July 11
- G family travel to London.
- Family is reunited in London,
- We all travel home to Sydney together.
- if the Gods are smiling, we could even stop somewhere for quick resort R&R.
