Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Do you know if I can do this with the Qantas call centre of would I have to go through expedia brazil?

Not sure - you could try ringing QF. They may help because it's an operational change.

This happened to us for return flights in the first week of July Syd-Sin. P1 SST team looked after us fortunately but PE down to Y was not a good prospect!

Being downgraded to the A330 means J is the old slopey bed. $1000 return is quite hard to justify, IMO.

I agree. In fact so much so that given the chance I'll be changing my award J ticket SIN-BNE (wearing the point fee) to change to BA F or fly CX J from HKG.

Change of Operating Aircraft Type between Brisbane and Singapore18 March 2014
Effective 12 May 2014 there will be a change of operating aircraft type between Brisbane and Singapore from a B744 three cabins offering Business, Premium Economy and Economy to A330 two cabins offering Business and Economy.

All Premium Economy customers will be progressively re-accommodated to the Economy cabin with the option to purchase an upgrade to the Business class cabin. The upgrade is available with the levels below:

Business Class cabin surcharge:

  • From Australia AUD500 one way
  • From Singapore SGD500 one way

This policy does not impact Business and Economy passengers.

The following options are available to affected Qantas Premium Economy cabin customers holding a valid commercial ticket excluding Qantas frequent flyer tickets issued on/before 17 March 2014 who are affected by the aircraft change for travel on/after 12 May 2014. This excludes supplementary services operating between 03 July 2014 and 21 July 2014 where a 3 cabin aircraft will be available.

Post 16 already covered it.

I have an update for those who are interested - after dealing with them via phone (waste of time) I managed to correspond quite well with them by fax (yes - you read that right, apparantly they do not use email...). After a few faxes, and them calling me, I have now been refunded just over $1200AUD for the 3 passengers return, we are booked into economy (full Y). I am happy with the result as it means we paid under $600AUD return each during the December peak period.

Thanks for your help everyone.
