morning everyone.
I need some help ASAP. Reason being i've got ~$20k worth of wedding transactions to make by the end of next week & i'd like to reap some of the ff points (i know i'm a bit late). Can someone help me in narrowing down the choice on an everyday CC that will maximise my ff points on a monthly basis. my details are below.

Qantas ff- gold member
home loan- BOQ
monthly spend- $3k
usage- frequently in areas that don't take amex
interest- automatic monthly payment of balance. interest rate is not crucial.
spend- expenses and bills etc. don't use exclusively at any outlets (i.e. myer)
annual fee- not adverse to paying ~$200 as long as it is of long term benefit.

thanks in advance for your comments.
cheers,
Dusty

If it is for payments by the end of next week....it will probably have to be ona card that you already have. What do you have?

Where do you want to fly, and in what class?

I currently have a BOQ Gold mastercard. BOQ don't have a Qantas ff affiliation, so i only get BOQ rewards.
Doesn't really bother me if i don't get a new card in time for next week. With my monthly spend + once off purchases, i think i would see better value with ff points.

i travel domestically on most occassions for work, so points would be used for the odd upgrade and some cattle class holiday flights (including overseas).

cheers,
Dusty

I use a ANZ Platinum FF Card which has the following benifits:

1 point per $1 spent for the first $2.5 or 3k each month (cant remember what the cut of is) then 1 point per $2 spent after that.
Yearly access is about $100 then an extra $50 for the direct QF point accrual.
Interest rate is pretty high (not sure what it is exactly) but it doesn't worry me as I pay the whole amount off each month.

My employer pays for the yearly fee and the QF fee so the card is pretty much perfect for my requirements.

Unless anyone has any better options? :)

I think i'm leaning towards the westpac earth platinum card... anyone in dissagreement?

although the annual fee is a little high ($250- but $125 for 1st year) i like the idea of 1.5 ff points per $1. i don't mind the idea of an amex & MC on one account.

anyone have any better ideas?
