This is my first post. I need advice please..

I'm travelling Qantas QF15 to Brisbane-LAX arriving 7.00am mid 2009..I'm in transit to BC Canada.. I'm using my Air Canada Aeroplan miles & I'm booked on UA flight 6114 departing LAX 9.04am bound for Vancouver... which is a Codeshare flight.. I phoned UA in Sydney and they advised me that I have to go to Terminal 8 to board UA Express .....I'm a 70 + years young lady and I looked at the LAX map of terminals and Terminal 8 seems such a long walk...

My Question is... what is the best & quickest way for me to get from Tom Bradley to Terminal 8 in time to catch the 9.04am flight..

Thanks..

Grandma.

Welcome to AFF, Grandma's Wings ". :D

There is a landside shuttle service

Hotel and Parking Lot Shuttles
Note for travelers: All inbound buses and vans, plus the LAX shuttles, unload on the Upper/Departure Level. Frequent, free shuttle service is provided between terminals (approximately every 12 to 15 minutes, 24 hours a day) assist travelers in getting from one terminal to another to make airline connections. To use this service, travelers should board the Airline Connections "A" Shuttle under the LAX Shuttle & Airline Connections blue sign on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal.

Once you clear customs and exit TBIT, there are free buses that stop out the front of each terminal at ground level and make you job pretty painless - I think (not 100% sure though - been a long time since I used the bus) the driver will even assist with luggage if needed. Shouldn't take very long (15 mins or so) and you should make your connection pretty easily.

:D

Dear Serfty & Dot..

Thank you so very much for your kindness and response to my quest for help, you have certainly saved me a lot of worry and leg work....

Yes, the driver will assist, but it would be advisable to have a few US$1 notes on hand as its customary to tip a bus driver who assists with luggage (US$1/bag is generally ok).

From memory I think the buses go in a clockwise direction, so from TBIT they head towards T5 first.

Welcome to AFF.

By the way, there's uniformed 'welcome/advice staff' there who can answer questions and give directions too.

Yes - good point - the Red Coats (I think). If you use the "helpers" , just be aware they may pressure you to make a donation to a worthy cause - my first time through LAX, I was pressured to donate $20 just for advice on where to find T4!

Yes, and welcome to AFF Grandma!

Dear Nelly, Vet & Dot.

Thank you so much for your " Warm Welcome" to AFF, it is very much appreciated.

I have taken note of all the advice given and shall be aware upon arrival at LAX.

Sincerely
