Hello to you all wherever you may be. As everyone says I have been a long time watcher and will now take the plunge into posting. Also I would love some advice on setting my target the best way possible and maximise my point earnings to get there.

My plans are to do a round the world trip for my 40th (3 yrs away) in business for my family (me, my darling wife and wonderful daughter who will be 7 yo for the trip).

My current points situation is as follows. 470,000 citi rewards points (currently earning around 100-120,000 points p/a via a signature card) and 270,000 QFF points but only now topping up via everyday rewards.

My questions if anyone can help are
1. What airline relevant to Citi rewards would be best to book a RTW ticket and point value?
2. Would obtaining an AMEX rewards card with a 3-2-1 spend be best to augment for the bonus uses (eg. Caltex and shopping) to assist in the airline choice for above.
3. Not a question but open any assistance/advice anyone can provide.

Thank you in advance and happy flying.
Richard

Belated welcome to AFF little brown dog!

Sorry I can't help you but here are some thoughts.

Qantas has a Oneworld award in business for 280,000 QFF per person but also high taxes. Can you transfer Citi points there?

American Airlines also has a round the world award mileage based but cannot see how you would get points there. Best way is via SPG from Amex but the ratio is not almost 2:1. Taxes are cheap.

Another option would be to construct your own round the world by booking individual trips with your points.

Also not going to be easy trying to get award seats for 3 people on every flight.

Good luck.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
