KEF-HEL then HEL-MUC, 2 separate bookings, both on AY, 55 min connection. Suspect I know the answer but will ask anyway - Likely to be any issue here? Assume they would check the bags through?

Background to this is looking to book some awards but the QF website won’t seem to allow me to book KEF-MUC. Won’t even allow that as a search. Am originating in HEL and trying multi city HEL-KEF + KEF-MUC which allows the search but won’t price the KEF-MUC portion despite showing availability. Only workaround appears to be booking a HEL-KEF return itinerary with the HEL-MUC as a one way on a seperate booking.

This would be fine on a single booking but I would not attempt it on separate bookings, particularly if you have checked luggage. Without checked luggage it might work if the inbound is on time.

Assuming that the issue preventing you from booking this on one ticket is not married segments, I would try calling Qantas to book this over the phone. They should waive the booking fee if you cannot book online. That said, if the flights don’t appear when you search KEF-MUC the issue could indeed be married segments.
