Separate fast-track passport lanes for people from "old Commonwealth" countries, such as Australia and Canada, are to be introduced at Heathrow after the Olympics, the immigration minister has disclosed.

Interesting. Heathrow immigration can be a nightmare at times unless you have an EU passport, or were in the "IRIS" scheme. Hopefully this will speed up arrival in the UK.

Hallelujah! I've always found it odd (bemusing?) that Germans, for example, get immigration preference over Australians into England...

I hope that the "private company" referred to in the article is better at finding visa overstayers (currently 100 a day) than the private company they gave the contract to supply security staff for the games.
