Travelling through Heathrow from SIN to Poland from Terminal 5. Understand as Saphire OW I can access either BA Terraces Lounge or Galleries Club. I have wait of about 5 hours so am looking to have a shower a bite and a drink - which is the better lounge?

I thhink your choice is Galleries Nth, Galleries Sth or Galleries 5B (the satellite terminal).

I believe South is the bigger lounge, although 5B can be quieter, however gate allocations won't be done until 2hrs out and no point travelling to the satellite if not departing from there.

With 5 hrs you can get around to all of them (edit although cannot go to 5B unless your plane ultimately departs from there)

Terraces are the old lounge brand, they’re now changing to Galleries. You have access to the Galleries Club lounge, of which there are 2/3. The best lounge is the one closest to your gate ;) but I forget if North or South is better overall.

London Heathrow Terminal 5 - British Airways (click on lounge information)

British Airways - Lounge locations also shows something else that lets the travelling public know just how far behind the times Australia is. No wi-fi access at all at either of the Qantas lounges at Sydney.

There is free wi-fi at QF lounges.
I think this shows how inaccurate the BA website can be at times.

I think that this topic has also been regurgitated so may times it has become boring. A simple search will show many many many returns on what AFF members have previously commented (including myself) on the T5 options and their thoughts.

I think a mod should step in and either merge this thread or close it down

BTW - I concur with straitman - WiFi yes...

If you close/merge/discourage every subject/thread that has been discussed before, AFF would probably just die a slow death :( (which would be a dreadful thing). Almost everything has already been discussed in one way or another.

There are often fresh views, or more up-to-date opinions, as the subjects we discuss are constantly changing (e.g. Qantas lounges).

It's no skin off my nose if the same questions get raised on a semi-regular basis - I'm not obliged to read or post in the thread. :)

Agree :)

Invariably a new angle on an old question is presented as well!

The search function on this site can be difficult as well in some instances...

As pauly7 mentions, the search doesn't always work, and as of the other day with the URL change, it was broken and returning no results as Google hadn't cached pages yet. I haven't checked again today.

The Search function current issue is known to admin & the Moderators. Admin is working on it IIRC

Terraces South is larger iirc and has a good view of takeoffs/landings depending on wind direction.

Our usual plan if a long transit, is to head to the main terminal (5a) south lounge, wait there until gate known. If departing 5a then just stay there. If leaving from b, once this is known, we have a wander of the shops then head to the 5b lounge for convenience.

The 5b lounge is essentially the same, only not as large but quieter (which can be nice) and the view is not as great if you like watching the planes arrive/takeoff.

There is free wifi.

As an irregular user, be careful as boarding calls arenot made, and it seems like ba close boarding quite early. We nearly missed our lhr -auh flight as we had forgotten no boarding calls and weren't sitting near s screen.

Hope that heps the OP.

Thanks to all for info and advice. Will post update after experience. Note did search but search did not comeup with relevant thread. Cheers
