Surrender Chambers show the stories of the Surrender of Singapore, and then events leading to Japan's defeat in the Second World War in brief, through video as well information boards and the figures shown. Unfortunately for me, as someone who tends to race through attractions such as these, each section is in darkness and only lights up after a programmed time frame. Despite that, again an extremely well done and informative display.

By this time I was all Fort Siloso's out and headed back toward the mainland. Bit of a walk back through the crowds of Sentosa

Bird display in front of where there were live birds available for photos

Photos could only be taken by the official Sentosa photographers, as seen below with my attempt to take a photo of the birds

My camera was quickly covered by a lady rushing over saying no, no no. Her timing was impeccable.
Suitably chastised, I went on my way

IMG_9418__1520758987_124.148.114.149.jpg

Eventually made it back over the walkway to the mainland, on to the MRT and to Lau Pa Sat, and a last supper

Strolled up to Clarke Quay, and watched the boats, and the world go by for a little while

Soon enough went back to the hotel, grabbed my bags on to the expo line and made my way to the airport. Like normal, way too early.
Cashed in my tourist pass and then went to check in

IMG_9435__1521017932_124.148.114.149.jpg

Quite painless, then this for the kids before immigration

Lots of time to waste, bit of time on the leg massage chair

IMG_9444__1521018120_124.148.114.149.jpg

Had a bit of coin left over that I wanted to get rid of, not quite enough for a coffee, so found some pocky sticks in the 7/11, then tried a taro turnover with my last $1.20 in coin. Very, very nice
Eventually time to board. Tawainese lady in the seat next to me, and her two earlyiesh teenage daughters in the 2 seats in front of us. About half an hour in, daughter in front of me reclines her seat. Mum quickly leaned over and chastised her, I had to tell her no worries, I don't mind. Mum very apologetic asking you sure? Kept telling her not to apologize that I didn't mind.
Watched a couple of movies - Dunkirk and American Made, head was dropping by the end of American Made. Breakfast carts were coming down the aisle when I nodded off. Woke no more than 4 minutes later with the carts a couple of rows closer.
Into Perth about half past 5, quickly through immigration and customs. Outside the terminal wanted to grab the bus that takes you between terminals, ends up saving about $25 off a cab fare in living in the northern suburbs. No bus, so started walking towards the taxis, when the bus to Perth rolled in. Thought why not give it a go, I'm within walking distance of a train station and my bag rolls quite easily. The cheapskate way worked well, inside my door within about an hour and 15 minutes of getting of the plane for a cost of about $4.50. Helped that it was early morning and little traffic on the bus, train turned up as I stepped on to the terminal, so things went right, and happy about having an extra $70 in the sky rocket.

Thoughts on Singapore - liked it a lot, would go again. My weekend escape destination know that I'm just about all Melbourne'd out.
If traveling there take wet wipes or tissues, no or few napkins at the hawker centres. Also, stay in a hotel with a pool.

Had a few misconceptions before going there. Heard how clean it was, how uptight it was, believed the hype about a 'fine' city. It was grubby in places, there was rubbish evident, people jay walked. Saw few police, however I do realise there are lots of CCTV cameras.

No misconceptions about the food though, can't wait to get back
