Hawaiian Airlines “indefinitely suspends” Brisbane flights
The Hawaiian flag-carrier confirms Brisbane won’t be coming back to its network.

Not really a surprise, but at the same time unfortunate for Queensland travellers. Combination of factors including the Queensland Government restrictions came to play here.
To go from numerous direct options (HA, AC, VA, QF) in 2019 to only one (QF) in 2022 really has to be a big blow for Queensland. Leaving only QF and the few one-stop options (FJ, NZ, etc).
The Queensland Premier/Tourism Minister has to go and to dig into their AAIF taxpayer funded subsidy warchest if they want to draw many North American based airlines back into BNE.
