Hello everyone.
My annual travel has almost 50% of my SCs are from Cathay Pacific, which made me become Qantas Platinum.
Yet I have noticed from 2026, seems ISM has stopped personal greeting for Emerald members, but they do it for Cathay Gold and Diamond.
Do you notice this change? Anyone has similar experiences?

I think there was some discussion on this thread, comparing experiences on CX? QF Platinum Recognition on flights

It would have to have been very sudden.

We had 9 CX flights last year (8x J and 1x Y). Each time the CSM made a bee line to welcome us.

We usually got food orders taken first and meals delivered first (including in whY).

On the whY flight, we were in the forward mini cabin of an A330. The CSM proactive advised that we could take a middle row each as they were empty! 😀 That flight was mid Dec 25.

However, perhaps the problem could be status falling off CX system. Which happened to us. I realised at checkin when the guy said we dint have lounge access despite OWE status. Cut a long story short he re-entered our QF FF# with leading zero and all good.

I had two CX sectors last week and was greeted by the CSM on both.
Hm... That's a bit strange. I had 4 flights so far in 2026 and did not have personal greeting. They greeted Cathay Gold instead.

I saw that on their iPad, I had a green square next to it, Cathay Gold is gold and Diamond is black.

Are you certain your FF status came thru - it should have been obvious on your BP with “Emerald”?

I am QF Gold. This month I took 4x CX flights, all in Y, MEL-HKG, HKG-KIX, HND-HKG, HKG-MEL. I was greeted personally by CSM on HND-HKG - offered drink from the bar ahead of other PAX, was checked in on 2 or 3 times, very warm and genuine service. It was a nice touch. But no personal acknowledgment on other flights (nor did I expect it). This is not dissimilar to my experience on EK - hit and miss with the personal acknowledgments; although better than my experience on QFi where I only get personal acknowledgment in J, never in Y or PE.

As an aside, this was my first time flying CX. Mixed experience. The Pier J lounge in HKG is absolutely fabulous, and the CX HND lounge is also superb - great design, plenty of space, excellent service, very high standard of food and drinks. Yet on board in Y it seems no better than QF - seats and food are average, service is fairly perfunctory. On recent experiences in QFi Y and EK Y it was easy to find an extra water bottle, a piece of fruit and/or a couple of chocolate bars in the galley - but when I went down to the galley mid-flight on my CX HKG-MEL leg I was told there were no water bottles, was given a half cup of warm water, and that they have no snacks because "breakfast is only two hours away", albeit was given a couple of biscuits as consolation. Anyway - if the price was right, I would do CX again for Asian travel, overall a smooth operation.
