AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Is it this sort of thinking that packs the lounges? Why there was actually a QUEUE to get into the MEN'S toilet at the BNE business lounge this morning? Queues for lavatories should only happen at major sporting events, and only for the women. But it is happening in my lounges!! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHh..............
Get rid of a few more Platinums if the lounges are overcrowded.

Also no lounge access if on JQ flight.

And continue to flood market with cheap points and release less award seats.

Why are you people so desperate to drag total strangers into the lounge? Seriously, it's bordering on worrying.

With the move by JQ to T4 at MEL that has become less of a 'benefit'.

Aren't most of the people in the lounge strangers?

I would guest a friend or colleague, or someone with whom I had some connection.
I wouldn't guest a complete stranger, unless he was really hot.

A couple of colleagues and I managed 11 guests between us into an unnanmed QF JLounge recently. To be fair, between us, we knew them all, but they would not otherwise have had access. All flights delayed and a jolly little drinx party was had. Almost disappointed to get on my flight!

Nice to do some random acts of kindness & seeing the looks of a stranger being in a lounge for the first time. Guested an older couple because their flight was canceled at 12am and ours too. No shops were open they were able to get some food, shower freshen up. Another time someone was traveling for a funeral and was thanking us for the guesting as it made her journey a little better to have some food & drink before the flight. You just never know you can make someone's day.

I have done it on 2 occasions. The first time an older lady (reminded me of my grandmother) who was having trouble with the self check-in so I helped her and got her luggage sorted and she had a wait of about 1 1/2 hours so I asked if she wanted to join me for a drink and she came along and we chatted.

The second time I caught the train to the airport and a young fella had been to an interview and was very excited before flying back to regional somewhere. When we arrived at the airport a massive storm hit and I knew we were going to be in for a long wait so I offered him to come in and we chatted and had a few beers.

Both greatly appreciated as they would have had to sit without chatting to anyone and I enjoyed the chat also.

Don't think I'd just bound up to someone and ask if they wanted to come in without having chatted before hand.

That's not uncommon at SYD F IME.
I then go to the J lounge to use the facilities which tends to perplex the gatekeepers there.

Do me a random act of kindness and make my day - don't guest strangers. Unless there is a bloody good reason.

In a million miles of flying I have not yet been spoken to by someone heading to a funeral, but I understand that could count.

If you want to see marvelous looks in stranger's eyes, why not just give them cash?

Maybe restrict lounge access to those with J tickets only.

Can I ask why? Genuinely curious.

I get this. (I think :) )

In the USA there is a much bigger theme about serving soldiers and veterans - I travel a bit on American Airlines and I know they try to look after these people. I personally think it is great - they are supporting the men and women soldiers - it is not about supporting the decisions of politicians to fight or not fight wars.

Revenue business tickets only? Sure. None of these Bankwest 1c freebies or the endless free signup bonuses.
