Other than tacking on a couple of legs to DONE* fares in the past, I have never specifically done a status run.

While this is not abot to change, I am doing a short holiday trip to Fiji next week, and the was looking at the fares. Have booked MEL - SYD - NAN - SYD - MEL in J. Was $843 going over (one way), and booked a one way return ex-QF Fiji site, at approx AU$740. Extra bonus is that I am earning double SCs at the moment, so this will equate to 480 SCs for under $1,600 - that's pretty amazing value in anyone's book (although 240SCs for the same price is still pretty good value). And the added bonus is that I will now achieve 3,600 SCs this year, so Platinum 1 is assured.

Will be interesting to compare benefits to WP, as this will help me assess whether to switch to AA after achieving WP in future years.

Congratulations on WP[SUB]x3[/SUB].

As for Fiji, that's a well known on this forum as being a great "local" status chasing opportunity.

It's been referred to on this forum as the "NAN Run".

Although the NAN run generally refers to the additional BNE-MEL and MEL-BNE legs that can be added for the same price resulting in 120SC extra if not doubled.

I wouldnt be 100% confident of qualification as they havent released the qualification details yet and havent identified the period in which the SCs need to be earned.

That's a great earn rate $3.33/SC.

I've got a similar earn rate for work related travel in August. MEL-BKK-HKG-BKK-SIN-AKL-SIN-MEL all in J - the flights are mixture of JQ *class and CX J - all up 700SC's for $2332 - Earn rate of $3.33/SC. My qualification year starts in August and i normally earn 1,700 SCs from work travel - I should comfortably make it to PG next year.

That's great value, I'll definitely be considering that trip before my April 30 deadline!
