Oh any excuse for grammar mistakes! 😸😸😸 “my husband ate my homework!” :)
I can beat that. I was doing some mature-age study in English & Humanities some years ago, and worked on quite a large presentation till late at night. It was all spread out on the floor ready to be stapled first thing and handed in by lunchtime. ........however the latest family puppy, got busy overnight and next morning it was carnage, like a fox had been in the henhouse. I was able to print it off again and handed it in on time. Naturally I documented the frightful scene. The teacher begged for a copy of the photo because it was the first time he'd seen genuine evidence of eaten homework

Not exactly homework, but our normally very gentle, but permanently hungry Labrador ate the school's pet quails when the girls brought them home for the night.
All that was left in the morning were the feet and a few feathers.

I'm afraid I was typing fast and was pretty peeved. Preceded by an argument with husbando and called "bloody petty". That's my excuse.
All things excused. As I said before social media and bulletin boards are exempt from grammar rules, even if it is a grammar thread!

Another thing which peeves me is subjects and verbs agreeing as in "There is several (not)!" or There is a number of items!". This is quite common and I've even heard it on news items where presenters must be reading from text or a teleprompter. You would think at least they would get it right!
