Given how regularly a normal google search presents poor info at the top in its ‘AI’ search, I’ll be sticking to SI searches on google flights. Scarlett Intelligence: I know what I’m searching for and how to filter the search to quickly find what I want.

As an example: a search a couple of days ago was something like ‘how much to take a golf bag on Jazeera Airways’. Googles ‘AI powered’ response was to list something like €20 for short flights. I thought it strange to use Euros and so kept searching. Not surprisingly, the AI answer had nothing to do with Jazeera… I find about 30-40% of the time I click on the thumbs down to ‘AI-powered’ google search answers because the info presented is wrong or misleading.

Also, hasn’t google just been using a giant info database for as long as they’ve had a search page? What makes this ‘AI-powered’ if they’re still pretty much just doing the same thing. If anything I reckon google searches have gotten less useful this year.
