Some months ago, I had booked an itinerary in J (saver fare) BNE > LAX > PHX outbound, and LAX > SYD > CBR return. The travel dates are now a little over a week away.

I wanted to change the return leg of the journey by pushing the date out 5 days.

Applicable charges should have been a $400 change fee and approx $3,000 fare difference.

Without my even asking, all costs were waived.

I was quietly hoping she might help me out with the fee, but I didn't expect it to be totally costless.

It's not totally earth-shattering, but I've decided to put such stories in here as there are often complaints posted... Which makes little sense to me as I feel very well looked after as a VA WP (1%). I have been very impressed on a number of occasions.
