Qantas will still operate twice-daily flights to London with their A380 aircraft. The transit point for the flights (QF1 & QF9) is just being moved from Singapore to Dubai - so no need to be glum ;)

I suspect 'the OP is using "jumbo" to mean the B747, not anything that comes out of Scarebus. I agree with the sentiment - I always fly to LHR via HKG, so I can fly in and out on BA's 747s (and use the far superior Terminal 5).

How many of those destinations do you first have to fly to Sydney for??

For me, all of them, but thems the breaks of living in CBR.
The argument was QF don't fly OS with their own metal, but based on this list above, it would seem that would be incorrect.

I am in Bne and it is becoming harder to use QF. SQ have three flights out a day at approx 0910, 1440 and 2345. It is becoming hard to pass up that sort of flexibility. The only problem I see with SQ is that it is difficult to get any status. This can be circumvented though with membership of either Aegean or Asiana.

I think the other capitals have good service from SQ as well.

Thats essentially the gist of the argument, if you live in SYD CBR or MEL then QFi provides a pretty good service to overseas destinations, the further away from SY-MEL you are the more appealing the other airlines are.... PER DRW and North QLD residents often have no real cost or time-saving incentive to fly QFi at all.

Guess it depends on how frequent you fly & what fare level with SQ..

Will do with the Emirates tie up ex PER. Still difficult to get to North America though.
