Thought I would start a new thread

Red Roo - can you please answer whether or not Golds can still access EK lounges?

Looking at this link - lounge access is specifically mentioned as a Platinum benefit, but deliberately excluded as a Gold benefit Qantas flights | Flight deals | Holidays | Hotels | Car hire

This would be a significant devaluation of benefits should this be true, and would remove any incentive for a Gold FF to use EK and QF over oneworld alliance partners.

Qantas website appears to be under maintenance at the moment so can't see the link you've provided. Having said that this would amount to a serious devaluation of the EK/QF tie-up which I assume if ever was to come into force would first be announced through more official channels with a date in the future when it will come into effect?

Unless this is relating to removing SG access to none-QF coded EK flights a la the recent QC announcement...

To add to the conspiracy, on that same page the 'In the lounge' drop down explicitly states Emirates First lounge access for WP (as well as Qantas First) but only International Business for SG...

Found out that one, too. My guess is:
Gold have access to the DXB Lounge because of their complimentary QF-Club Membership, when flying on QF code.
Access to other lounges will be a thing of the past.

This is what it says on the Qantas website under Tier Benefits. No reference either in the table about EK lounge access for QF Golds... Is this for real?

Thanks. I note though that if you click through the Qantas Club pages to the Dubai J lounge profile, it still references Gold FF's as being eligible for access.

Just looking at the QF Plat benefits from the same link in the OP:
Lounge Access
Enjoy access for you plus one guest and up to two children to Emirates Lounges throughout Australia, Europe, Asia, North Africa and the Middle East, whenever you fly with Emirates. In Dubai, you can enjoy the luxurious Emirates First Lounge and in other airports, the Emirates Lounges.

Does this mean you can no longer access, for example, the Emirates lounge in Singapore whilst flying on a QF flight?

Seems to be some tweaking shall we call it happening. Waiting to see Red Roo's response to this one.

Despite it only being a day I am wondering whether no further news on this is in fact not good news at all...

Did gold ever have first lounge access?

This from the Gold benefits page today...
