We then drove back to Perth - around 710 km

On top of the rock. The "wall" is to direct rainfall into the reservoir built before scheme water got to Hyden

There are pockets of vegetation on the top. You can see how dry the surrounding country is. Including the omnipresent salt lakes in this area.
And that is the end of our little trip. Our visitors are currently in the Mt Barker/Albany area and then will be spending a few days around Margaret River before returning to Perth
