Hi, I've just made Gold guest status and checked my online status which says that my mileage expiry is March 2018.

My understanding was that I get an additional 2 years after this date - or is this just the gold status, not the actual miles?

You need to accumulate 50,000 Etihad Guest Tier Miles or travel 40 Etihad Guest Tier Segments within any consecutive 12 months period to become an Etihad Guest Gold Member.
Etihad Guest Tier Miles/Segments are tracked in any rolling 12 months period to measure a particular Etihad Guest Tier, or upgrade to a higher Tier.
Once you have attained a higher tier, your status is valid for the rest of that calendar year plus one year for Silver and 2 years for Gold/Platinum. In addition you will enjoy the benefits of the tier for a bonus three months.
For members who are re-qualifying for their existing tier, the membership will be valid for a further 12 months. You need to accumulate 40,000 Etihad Guest Tier Miles or travel 30 Tier Segments within a qualifying year, from 1st January to 31st December of the renewal period.

Also, I see that I can now have a guest join me in the business lounges, this includes Virgin flights too. Any other advantages I should be doing like status match etc now I'm at this level? I thought airberlin did but I can't find this on their website.

Thanks in advance
