I'm going to the USA for the first time with my partner in May, entering via LAX. I was just wondering if we will be able to approach the immigration counter together or will we have to go through separately, like they made us do in Singapore?

Scott.

I've done it together numerous times, even going through the cabin crew (aka APEC) line.

We go together but it really doesn't speed the process up. You just don't get lost in the crowd.

Thanks for the responses. Not so concerned about the speed, my partner is just a bit nervous about going through immigration alone, this should put her at ease a bit.

Scott we have just returned and no issues going through together, just remember to take of sunglasses and hats before you approach the desk.

Entering in HNL last year I went through with my partner and we got told we should have gone separately because we weren't married

Been to USA many times always go through together never been told not to.

Just do what you're told ......approach togather until told to desist !

Depends who you get at the counter!

I have been through multiple times with a partner whom I am not married to, but only once I was told that I need to back and wait in line while the +1 goes through alone
