Hi all, after many years of scouring these forums and careful planning, my wife and I have finally booked a trip on SQ in J to Europe and back in 2023 (using points of course!). Having previously flown in J from BNE to SIN, we loved the Book the Cook service and are excited by the prospect of nearly 40 hours on board across all our flights to explore a few options.

Unfortunately since that flight I've been diagnosed as a Coeliac and will need Gluten Free meals for the journey, with that in mind my question is:

1) How do I request special meals? Currently there is no option to do this online more than 7 days out from the flight.

2) If I do select the Gluten Free meal will I get the standard economy meal? Will there be snack options available or will I need to BYO? How much is this going to impact my experience?

Thanks in advance as always.

You can do this via Manage my Booking on the SQ website. Go into your booking and there is a Meals section underneath where you would choose your seats. There are options for In-Flight Menu, Book the Cook, and Special Meals.
I've flown a few airlines and requested dietary meals in J and F, but not Singapore Airlines yet. On other airlines, I've found the meals to be better than what would be served in economy as a special meal, but not to the same standard as regular BTC or inflight menus. Unfortunately, I've also had the case on a 14-hour flight when no special meals were loaded, which can happen from time to time. Snacks vary, and there is no guarantee that the snacks served onboard will meet your dietary needs. I would always suggest bringing some snacks just in case, especially on a journey to Europe.
