So just reached QF Plat and now have 50kg baggage allowance for intl trips. Not sure I have ever carried more than 30 kg in the past 20 years of air travel. Wouldn’t it me good to gift some of my “excess” allowance for those that have a kilo or two over in their carry on?

Crazy idea...someone else's bag with unknown contents will be checked in under your name.

Sorry no, what I meant is that there is x amount of kilos allowed on the plane and when it is full some passengers may be over a kilo or so with carry on. If I have several kilos in my allotment, I would like to “gift” that extra kilo or two to them. The plane still has the same weight restriction, but I can help another passenger out. I do not check their bag or have anything to do with it other than freeing up some of my allocated weight.
