Getting to Uganda

Hi All,

For next year December I am planning to do a gorilla trekking trip in Uganda and some small safaris with a tour company called Insight Safari Holidays, will add a few days in Rwanda as well touring the Genocide museum and NYE in Cape town.

I am BNE based and want to fly Qsuites going in as they are the best to get to EBB, but QR blocks from Dec 15 or so for award tickets right?? Has anybody actually seen when they start blocking? I was thinking of leaving a bit early around Dec 10 or so, so that I can snag the tickets.

Flying back I intend to fly on SQ,hopefully I will be able to get some tickets.

Other option is Ethiopian air from KUL/SIN.

I want to do the gorilla trek now before I get too old as I have heard it can become a bit strenuous, we are in early/mid 40's with a very active lifestyle.

Any other recommendations for a tour company in Uganda would be appreciated as well.

What ffp BNE to EBB on QR? QF ffp? Suggest you forget that for a QF ffp award. Or a VA award?
Return on SQ by which ffp?
NBO is hub in that part of Africa
EBB to Capetown is a diversion

We review the Qantas First Class service on the Airbus A380 on QF63 from Sydney to Johannesburg. While the suite is very comfortable and the cabin crew are excellent, the soft product could probably use some small improvements.

I hope to fly on QR FFP, I have the miles in my account, just hope there is availability. I know QF flies JNB-SYD but I have never seen availability like ever as I have no status with QF, another option might be South African air as they fly JNB - PER and fly QF/VA back to BNE
