Getting the Most out of flybuys?

We've gotten 3 x $100 vouchers from Flybuys now, better than nothing. I regard QFF points as of almost no value these days so I don't bother with Woolworths.

Wish I could get cash back for all my Westpac Altitude points, they only allow you to buy trinkets.

Do you realise you can get gift cards/vouchers through the QFF store? I exchange QFF points earned via woolworths back into $100 vouchers and seem to get there much quicker than flybuys.

And spending several months a year in Tassie then Flybuys is better than nothing.

My way of getting the most out of Flybuys is to only make large purchases at Coles when I have a targetted offer like triple points or better. I also frequently combine two Flybuys offers in the one shopping trip or one Flybuys offer plus a Tell Coles $5 voucher.

Just got an offer for 14 cents off for $150 spend to 18 cents off for $170 spend.
Now is that worth more than mrsdrron's 200 bonus points for $150 spend with Woolworths?

Below is a practical example of how I made the most out of Flybuys.

On the weekend I combined a triple flybuys points offer with a 16 cent fuel voucher offer. I also got $5 off from using the coupon from Friday's paper where there was a minimum spend of $70.

I might as well sign up with Flybuys, as we do shop at Cole's more regularly now. Does anyone know of a sign up promo (or do they ever do that)?

I'm fairly new to Flybuys. I only joined in May last year. At the time I joined they sent me a welcome email with several offers I could take advantage of in the first month of my membership. I took up 2 of those offers, spending money I was going to spend anyway and earned 2000 in bonus points. I'm sure the offers change from time to time but I'm guessing they'll offer you something as soon as you join. Good luck

Re: Not enough FlyBuys points - so what good is it?

Stopped using FlyBuys years ago. It just takes too many points to do anything. Don't get me started on the self checkouts at Coles prompting you to insert your FlyBuys card about 5 times each transaction.

Re: Not enough FlyBuys points - so what good is it?

I've had a flybuys card for years but never bothered with it as I'd need to shop daily to redeem against a toaster once every decade. With the re-launch and "new" program, anyone hazard a guess at the approximate value of a single FB point?

I know the standard answer is .. well, it depends, but there are broad estimates on other points types and its a reasonable rule-of-thumb. HH points for instance are often quoted at 0.5c each, VFF and QFF points tend to be quoted at 2-3c each, Amex MR points are good for whatever you transfer them to.

I got the invitation package today, to sign up again.... maybe my old card/points have expired? In any event, the earn rate and general blurb _sounds_ like a standard FF type scheme, which infers to me a probable 1-3c/point value ... I should go and work it out I suppose, but with so much investment in other schemes now I'm not sure if I can be bothered unless there is likely to be some real value here.

Re: Not enough FlyBuys points - so what good is it?

Well the points don't expire now, so at least you can build them up. Someone valued them at least 0.5c a point. I guess the biggest advantage they have is can be booked with any airline on webjet.
