Hi Guys,

Just checked in for my flight to HK tonight and ran into some issues with my exit row seat.

This is my 5th return trip to HK this year, and I've always booked on the Qantas website, and as usual, got allocated an exit row seat without paying for both legs.

I have never had any problems with it, and would usually move to row 40 when the online check-in opens. However, because of a full flight, I've checked into the exit row seat that was allocated to me during the time of booking, and the lady had to rang the supervisor to confirm I was allowed to keep the seat since I didn't actually pay for it.

Has this happen to anyone else? Because she warn me that on my return leg, I might be asked for payment for my exit row seat.

Cheers

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

It has been reported on AFF recently that some people are getting exit rows automatically pre-allocated on international flights. Theoretically one needs to pay for these seats as per the terms and conditions.

If you have been able to get away with it so far then good luck but if QF turn around and say to you in order to keep that exit row it will cost you $80 there is nothing you can do about it.

I've had it go both ways. Been moved out of them, and been left in them.

Actually, I have had been move out of it too once coming back from HK.

Anyway, I'm just going to enjoy it while it lasts. Still prefer row 40 over exit row any day.
