Do hotels actually check your membership cards when checking in when booking under these, or other discounts? If so, is there a way around it apart from joining?

The RACV card has a AAA membership number in little print on the back.I use my RACV card and have never had a problem.
And everyone is using these 'Australian' - based cards in USA, Canada, Europe etc. ...just to clarify.

Never had my RACWA card checked. Equally, never been asked to produce proof of age (but that could be because it's a bit obvious) nor to justify any hotel discounts that I may have used. Almost tempts me to try for youth or female discounts where they exist.

In Vegas clubs women often get free entry and free drinks...I am told certain clubs have special deals for women, however I have no personal experience.
