Some friends of mine are transiting through Singapore - if I give them my left over currency (approx $14 Singapore) how far will it get them in terms of bottle water/coke etc? Except for a quick duty free run - I never venture out from the lounge so have no idea about general pricing.

Should be about right for a drink at Harry's. Apart from that, I'm not too sure either... too much lounging (if I'm not sitting at the outdoor Harry's)...

Isnt there a convenience store at changi?

Yes,a mini supermarket is located near the food court, one level above departures in T2. They even accept credit cards for any amount!

can get a bowl of noodles/chicken rice for about $6-7 from memory, should be able to find something to eat and drink from a fast food joint for that price.

I used one landside, in the basement of T3. (San Miguel's were quite inexpensive - just had to chill them

Only in Singapore would they have airside 7-11s ;)

7-Eleven - Changi Airport

And a cheers store in T3!

Cheers - Changi Airport

Thanks everyone. Assuming prices at similar to downtown it's worth handing over my $S14.

There is a Cheers convenience store where you would be able to buy some water for ~SGD1 or Tiger/Carlsberg beer for ~SGD2.95 each.

From memory you can get a meal deal at Hungry Jacks for ~SGD8.95.

I think pretty much all airside food places accept foreign currencies (albeit at a non-favourable rate). So that's something to keep in mind.

Also, as already commented ... the cheapest food would be at the Cheers store in T3 (Landside).

your $14 wont get you a new Tag at the watch store near the QF lounges, I looked at a new watch a few years back, I bought 2 (SWMBO has matching Tag - how romantic!) in Melbourne on special (same model) for about 2/3's less than Changi :|
