General Medical issues thread

I had a flu jab yesterday and looking at my immunisation history, noted that in previous years they had been mid to late April.
Not sure if they are available early or I have just been slack in previous years.

Flu jab always available from March, but generally only provides 4 months protection, so getting it in March wont see you through whole winter, might need a booster in August. Better to wait another month to get coverage to end of winter. Plus should get new covid booster same time.

Yes. We had ours in early April last year, the old peoples one so 'strong', but both developed that super flu variant that is incredibly debilitating, in September. I'm holding off for a bit this year.
Going home tomorrow.
Just a little happiness.
How long has it been? Seems ages and must seem like a lifetime for you. Home cooked meals. Your own bed. Priceless. Oh. And a good wife of course. 🤭

I had flu jab early April last year because I was travelling in last week of April and first 2 weeks of May; but usually I would go mid May; so that it effective from start of June through to end of September.

Will be 34 days tomorrow since the fall. Have met some interesting folks here in Rehab.
One fellow is a stand up comedian with several stints on cruise ships out of Brisbane and a couple he boarded off Mooloolaba.
Another fellow owned 4WD Tourist busses which were leased to several of the companies that run outback tours. He drove one himself.

Sadly spent some time cancelling trips. Our first major trip now will be late September. A few days in the UK, 3 days in Barcelona then 11 days on Chrystal Serenity BCN - LIS and slowly back to BNE via FRA and SIN.

Hopefully by then the pain will have subsided. Probably will need to travel with a 4W walker.

The best laid plans of mice or men often fail. This morning found out that the ramp for the front door couldn’t be done until next week and I was advised to stay in hospital. Neither Mrsdrron nor I considered that to be acceptable so now waiting for an ambulance to take me home and not allowed to leave house for a week. Will have visits from the transition care team.
Means no Saturday lunch at the club. But at least I will be back home with Mrsdrron.

Funnily enough when mum first went to care she believed the nursing home was poisoning her. So I became very known at the KFC near her nursing home and the Subway there as well lol . Fortunately both could go in the fridge in her room for her
