Yes everything else other than platelets and red cells has a long shelf life.

Also the Red Cross has a frequent flyer program
You get a little gift after every 3rd donation.

I’m a regular donor of platelets. The only downside is it takes 80 minutes to be drained and refilled. Always feel my contribution is greatly appreciated-on the day and in the follow-up communication. I love hearing where my donations have been used.

I remember at uni we loved our blood donation outings. A group of us happily head off for our bleed then gorge on the milkshake and goodies later.

In the Police we were given time off to donate. We donated verrrry regularly.
