So Qld finally seceded.

I was wondering which country you referenced when you said; "Codeine detection means loss of licence." I now know that is the illustrious Free State of Queensland. ;) Thank you.
Is that only relevant in Queensland?

Many people think that mouth to mouth is icky - and it is. So they baulk at doing any CPR.

However even if you can't do M2M you can still do chest compressions. It's is much better than nothing
Have just done a first aid course, the instructor had a CPR shield folded into a tiny pouch attached to his keyring. 30 compressions, 2 breaths is the current MO and yes compressions if you're not prepared to do breaths is the recommendation. There are face shields with one way valves available (and apparently should be /likely to be) in any AED cabinet if it helps with the icky...

One of the best days of my life was doing CPR on a resuscitation patient in the emergency room in tandem with the rest of the team and I got to be the last person doing it before the patient achieved a return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC).

But I think nothing of the few good deeds I've done. I allow myself to be always burdened by my many errors and sins.

Sadly - its seems a requisite character trait for those of us who went to medical school. 😔

Have successfully increased my weekly mileage and will probably top 20k at pace this week
Yesterday 14 k (10am4pm) @10m/km over some rough trails and including my heart killer hill, easy as and more importantly loose and pain free today.
Medicine says cartilage does not regrow. (that's a full stop) I guess my knees are running on air..or ….
Cardiologist visit recently expressed no concern for high heart rates, suggested I do not even record it !!

I have a lung condition and as such have a high heart rate and the lung specialists are concerned so referred me to one of the cardiologiists who did not appear to be concerned. Now I don't know whether to be concerned or not.

I guess everyone is different, I have a stent but no heart attack and everything reads normal in the clinic
As I have become fitter my heart rate has increased under stress and I made a point of explaining what I was doing.
I was relieved to hear that it isn't an issue and assume I am going to die of something else...
