General Medical issues thread

That hopefully is not required again.
Unfortunately his tongue tie reattached but we're just not willing to put him through that again right now. Maybe when he's older he can get it done in the chair. But he had a cyst removed from under his tongue last time and it awful. He didn't eat or drink for three days, hence the oxy.

There is a difference between taking something for kicks or for fun and being addicted

Is there? Why does someone who takes them for fun continue to take them if not addicted even if addicted to the feeling?

I'm considered to be addicted if I'm told these drugs are addictive and I ignore advice and continue to use them? I have to accept alternate treatment even if it means I suffer?

Everyone reacts differently to each and every drug. The responsible ones are the ones that usually suffer.

I know where you live ...... but have our own post surgery stock untouched 🤫
Actually, the girl that is housesitting my place broke her leg really badly a week after she moved in and is still in an electric wheelchair. I bet she’ll have a stash too.

It's amazing how life works.

Dad out of hospital 6 days ago and we've been thinking about aged care but he's making huge improvements.

At the moment mum mashing food with mortar and pestle and dads appetite has returned often asking for more.

He's also walking inside the house (slowly) using walker and sometimes his cane. Home care come to help him shave and shower. Today he actually sat at the table.

P.S. I booked flights to Sydney for today to see dad in hospital but he was home early. Hoping he continues to recover and I've asked dad to wait 4 weeks for daughters school holidays.

I thought you might say that . Hence the last paragraph: 😉

Inhaled corticosteroids long term much less risk of OP than oral corticosteroids. I would check with gynae and endocrinologist re HRT question

Interestingly there is calcium and there is good calcium. A lot of calcium supplements (inorganic) are actually not good. There is evidence that suggest it just clogs up the arteries. Naturally sourced Calcium better. (I didn't know this)

Mrs QS is on this Calcium (recommended by her Endocrinologist who said don't take inorganic calcium): The other good calcium source is Almonds but calorie rich

Thankyou for this. After feeling like carp for a few days, intense fatigue and finally getting around to the monthly blood test im supposed to have but feeling too carp to get it done, I had the rheumatologist chasing me yesterday as she'd received the results. She never calls me after one of these. Seems like my inflammation markers, mainly CRP are seriously elevated. So I've not left PMR behind after over two years and oral steroi_s going to be in my life for the time being. So another dexa scan and so on. I'm already Vit D deficient, have osteopenia in my hip from the last one so time to accept I'm adding to my daily tablet dose again. Currently thyroid, Plaquenil, pantoprazole, Xarelto, hypertension one, more steroi_s, and now calcium. I'm going to need a bigger pill sorter and I'm like one of those older people lining up at the chemist with a stack of boxed scripts I used to observe in my younger years.

Just a bummer. Thought I was done with this damn PMR.

Yes it does but...
One of the issues with Chocolate is that it contains oxalates which apparently impair calcium absorption.
Though I think caffeine is worse as impairing calcium absorption.

TL,DR:

Correlation versus causation right there. Maybe people who consume chocolate every day don’t exercise as much as others?
