Note to self. Get cataracts done. Which type of Doctors to people visit for such work? Have a GP visit next Wednesday.

I have to get a referral from GP for Ophthalmologist. They won't do your cataracts unless they are bad enough - it makes such a difference though - just got two letters - due for colonoscopy and Ophthalmologist appointment - oh yay

Sometimes I just ignore such letters but never had one for a colonoscopy reminder though. Makes the dentist one seem a snap.

The plan. I haven’t developed the plan. I do have the chronic illness.

The GP and nurse will put together the plan. Mine have been pretty pro forma. Fill in the lurgies, and the specialists you have nominated, and out comes the plan. I never look at it from one year to the next,

My dose is 50mcg, but expected to rise to 100mcg shortly following another TFT.
My TSH was reported as being 47 while T3 and T4 were both low.
Went to the GP today to get some repeat scripts and get the results of a TFT. Two months after commencing Eutroxsig (50mcg) my TSH is down to 0.31 which I find amazing. Neither T3 or T4 test results seemed to be on the report though.

GP's seem to rely very much on TSH as the indicator for treatment. Good outcome.

I would like some advice of on a new watch/heart rate monitor. I am searching for a heart rate watch to replace my aging Mio Alpha 2. It is ugly but perfect for my needs. But unfortunately, the watch is discontinued and very hard to find.

The watch has a few features which I don't need. What I like is that the time is easy to read and also the heart rate. The feature I really like is that there is a LED light at the base of the face which flashes a different colour depending on my HR. For instance overnight, it flashes blue as my HR varies between 60 and 70. Then it flashes green, yellow, pink or red during the day depending upon my activity level. The watch can be set to flash at whatever range I require.

Many of the watches I see advertised have a HR monitor, but the display is very small or only updated every 15 minutes or drains the battery very quickly etc.

So what I want is HR always on and an easy to read display.

And not too ugly.

following….
My only contribution is that I threw away a fairly young fit bit that refused to charge and may buy an Apple watch sometime to replace it.
I tend to destroy watches ( now only buy 300m screw crown Swiss movements) and it would be a pity to smash a nice shiny new apple watch……otoh.. it would be nice to track my daily activity and my heart palpitations when that suave chick cycles past.......

I have a Fitbit Versa. Sort of does what it says but HR is difficult to read as print is a bit small.
Like you my battery ran down quickly and Fitbit have just replaced it after 2 years with a Versa 2. I wear the strap loose but regardless the strap breaks every 6 -10 months and Fitbit have so far replaced the strap when I have complained. There must be better or cheaper brands that perform as well.

I have an Apple Watch but I don't think it would do what you want - the HR display is quite small although you can push the button and check HR in the app. Sounds like a more dedicated HR monitor/watch is what you need.
On the other hand, it is very good at telling me when I have tripped over (had a fall as my daughter says) even at times if I just happened to move quickly. It seems to learn and is much more accurate now, It has identified the three or so times I really have fallen over. Luckily no lasting damage so just push it to say am OK.
The Fitbit I had before was a pain to read the time - it was so hard to get it to display when I moved my wrist and not bright enough in sunlight. The Apple watch is great for that.

Of course computer politics enter stage left….
Whatever system you use for everyday and business use may have a bearing on what will be comfy on your wrist.
I have not the time or the inclination (some might say intellect…) to interface politically different systems, we are
an Apple house and the Fit bit, fitted but was not seamless.. an Apple watch , for me, will be seamless.

And if you do decide on a Fitbit it might be handy to know that you can download the Apple app (I can't remember the name just now) onto your mobile and your Fitbit will sync with it or whatever it is called. I prefer the HR tracking on the Apple app to the Fitbit app. You can switch between the apps without issue.

EDIT: App is called CARDIOGRAM and might not be associated with Apple. Works on Android & Apple phones and interfaces with Fitbit.

Haven just taken a nasty tumble the other night has made me think about this - I haven't worn a watch for 20 years so not sure I want to spend a lot of money on something I may not be able to wear

The fall monitor sounds good, we are both acoustically challenged and stuff happens.
I went base over apex coming in the back door in in the dark with wet thongs and an armful of cat .
I lay on the floor for a bit laughing at my ineptitude and the offended stupid human look on the cats face…
swmbo had not a clue, I could have died there and then….
