See an Optometrist or better still an Ophthalmologist.

Knew I should have mentioned that detail! Booked in to the ophthalmologist for Monday morning. The emergency doctor was wanting me to get in to one this week, but my preferred one was not at all available this week.
Thankfully I think the receptionist remembered him treating my daughter (operated on her eyes at 13mths) until a couple of years ago, and she squeezed me in.

Following my second retinal operation last Saturday, I've done a lot of lying around. The second detachment was on the side of the retina. So, like the first one, they inject a bubble of gas into the eye to hold the repair steady. This time though, as the bubble had to hold the side up, I had to be lying on my side for the bubble to float 'up' the side for support. The first tear was at the top, so all I had to do was to be propped up a bit in bed, otherwise go around normally.

That's on my side, the same side, 45 mins out of 60 for a week. Makes the need to be efficient in doing everything from eating and everything else.

Listened to a lot of podcasts, and audio book (will put it on chit-chat thread) and some videos, but watching sideways is a bit challenging.

One night to go ...

Is it possible for me to muse that you are showing your Right side in you posts? :p :D

Shame.. RTma.. politicising the medical thread.. Shame….

very droll tho...;);)

I would have some serious difficulty with voluntary immobility … one of my (many) faults is never being still...

Husband now has all his MRIs on Prince of Wales. However this week I needed to have an ultrasound and an x-ray for my left knee (fat, oldish and twisted it ) which I had done at a local place ,so when I came out after having the two done, I was surprised to learn no charge. Bulk billed to Medicare
Husband also has a care plan which has meant his podiatrist is free , again billed to Medicare.

You are not going to believe this, but I swear it’s all true. It’s my left side that I have to lie on, and after a week my left shoulder and left hip and, er, nearby structures are pretty sore. Who knew that the left would be such a pain in the a**e! (Boom, boom!) 😂. But at the moment I’m definitely one-eyed ( oh, I’m killing ‘em tonight). 🤣

After eating fish all my life (not quite 3 score years and ten but getting closer) I have now developed a severe allergy to white fish and confirmed at the specialist today. I LOVE fish. 2020 can get stuffed
That's a cough shot. What symptoms do you get? MrP loves dogs but after a serious medical event he randomly developed an allergy to them. We would otherwise have a dog. He develops asthma and weeping eyes.

First time out to dinner with friends and sharing and just got a tightening throat, tingling lips and felt cr@p. Then developed severe Dx and cramps. Wasn't sure what it was and thought I must find out if there was some spice I hadn't encountered before.

About 5 weeks later out to lunch with friends, one mouthful of barramundi and again tight throat and tingling lips, hands went bright red and wanted to vomit. About an hour later severe rash over my whole body and again Dx and stomach cramps for several hours. Now have to carry an epipen and been advised if it happens again call an ambulance immediately even if I've used the epi pen

Sympathy. Could just have been a bout of scombroid or ciguatera poisoning?

My whole family reacts like that to cats. Lucky we don't want one. One Shetland Sheepdog is more than enough.

We do have a cat now and he does get a more moderate reaction. eg he washes his hands immediately after petting or playing with him. If he rubs his eyes they will swell a bit but teldane sorts it. Sometimes he’s a bit wheezy. But nothing like when he’s near a dog.

Not when I got a huge reaction at the immunologist today for garfish and whiting and basa

That really sucks - must be so disappointing and not to mention worrying now for you.
It is - especially when travelling overseas (remember that)

This is exactly what happened to me 35 years ago. I previously ate fish every week of my life. I too am now anaphylactic to fish and carry an Epipen. Twice I have ended up in emergency pumped with adrenaline.

It was thought that my allergy developed after eating a bad piece of fish and it got worse from there. You must be very careful eating out. One of my emergency hospital visits was after a meal at a chinese restaurant. The other was at a Thai restaurant. I cannot eat Thai as they use fish sauce and fish oil in almost everything. Even vegetarian spring rolls. They use fish sauce to enhance flavour even in some chicken dishes. And if they use a contaminated knife or chopping board I get a reaction.

And I too longing look at fish dishes on a menu, knowing that I will never taste fish again.
