Speculation also brewing that GA may exit Australia altogether, along with speculation that GA may also follow many other bankrupt airlines into going the "primarily Domestic-only with Short Haul International" route.

Quoted the first few sentences.
Singapore/Jakarta | Garuda is considering axing more international routes including Jakarta-Sydney as the Indonesian airline battles to stay in business after losing $US2.5 billion ($3.3 billion) last year.

Garuda has already announced it will cease flying to Perth and Melbourne in early July. Qantas stopped all flights to Indonesia last year, so Garuda’s Jakarta-Sydney route was set to become the only direct commercial flight between the two countries.

Garuda chief executive Irfan Setiaputra on Monday told the Indonesian parliament that the Sydney, Kuala Lumpur and the Netherlands destinations were next in line to go.

That's disappointing :( GA offered the only premium service ex MEL non-stop to Bali. Guess there is the QF option via SYD, but adds a couple hours on.

Garuda's European services have been a bit of a mess and loss-making for a while. They kept changing the routes every 6 months or so (at one point the DPS/CGK flights to AMS/LHR were one-stop via Medan). I'm surprised they wouldn't be able to make Australia work, however.
