Hi, I will be in Istanbul for a week in October and am wanting to do an overnight tour of Gallipoli & Troy. I have tried a couple of places (inc Qantas Holidays and Tempo Holidays) and no one seems to have an overnight tour. Any suggestions as to who I could book direct with? Thanks in advance!

Hi Sheln81

My wife and I are doing the same trip in June this year. We are organising partly ourselves and partly through a Hotel called Crowded House in Eceabat, a small town where some of the tours leave from.
Our flight arrives in Istanbul at 16.00 and we will then.

1 Catch train directly from the airport to, Otogar, the main bus station .
2 Catch the first Bus to Eceabat, approx 5.5 hour trip.
3 Check in at Crowded House
4 We have booked their Troy tour in the morning and Gallipoli tour in the afternoon.
5 After the two tours we will catch the first bus back to Istanbul

Two weeks from now I'll be watching dawn at Anzac Cove. I'll report back on how it goes. Not sure about overnight tours of anywhere. You either get a day tour from Istanbul, or you make your own way down to Eccebat or Cannakale and take tours from there.

I've been lucky enough to find a place called Gallipoli Houses in a small village just east of Anzac.

Thanks heaps! I'm off to the US, UK, Turkey and Dubai in Sept/Oct and Turkey is the only week I've yet to plan. Plenty of time before I go but I like to be organised!

I will look forward to hearing about your stay there, we are actually booked at Gallipoli Houses later in the year, sounds an ideal location for exploring the area. Any subsequent hints would be most welcome too . . . . .

Have a wonderful time :)
