I have been helping another friend to steal candy with a LONE4 and noticed on the relevant Finnair Partner Details page of the AAdvantage sub-site that from 1st January 2007 L inventory on AY will earn 1 qpoint per flown mile.
Perhaps an incentive to pick up AY in Asia when flying to Europe on a LONE4.

BTW, I searched to see if this had been made known here and couldn't find it.

Update - AY codeshares

A little bit of digging around the AY site and I found that there are codeshares on QF metal from Australia to Asia, specifically from SYD to BKK and BNE to SIN. MEL shows up on their drop down menu in both reservations and schedule pages, but just brings up an error message. There is no mention, however, of MEL in the PDF schedule. Perhaps it is something for the future.
In any case it means that on a LONE one can now go all the way to Europe earning 1 EQM per mile.

I was checking availability for these AY codeshare flights on QF for a friend and it appears, at least from September on, that they have been withdrawn.

Another alternative is on JL which earns 70% EQM/EQP in L class (still better than QF).
