Our funniest meet up was with Jessica Tam for me misjudging by name.I was expecting a 5 foot nothing young lady based on a Chinese style last name.
Now k-sheep you can change. I have taken Mrscove along to a couple of dinners and she came to no harm.

Fortunately in Canberra, there are hardy souls who organise a dinner a few times a year at the Kingo, where a dozen or so get together, even MrsK has enjoyed them.

But for then something completely different, we went for a day ride in @BAM1748 's private train carriage, from Central Station in Sydney up into the Blue Mountains. Again we met a whole lot of new AFF'ers, including @cove who told us the tale of how he abandoned MrsCove in economy while he was in business, on a flight to the US. I don't know how he has survived to tell the tale.

Ha, what's in a name! I imagine "Jessica" as either being fond of tim tams, or married to "Tim". Or fond of both.

Yes I barely survived that mistake from 2 decades ago. We had 2 business class seats and 2 economy seats and our 2 sons were not old enough to be on their own according to Mrscove.
Has not been repeated so I am still alive.....

Are there any meetups in Perth, WA?

Would be nice to meet others who fly quite frequently.

There hasn't been much in the way of meet-ups of just PER people, but we have had several over many years that have been stimulated by having an eastern visitor - particularly one of the mods who has clients in PER. Of course, nothing has happened for the last year and it's likely to be that way for a while yet.

Certainly have met a few of the regular and not so regular AFFers. However basically on an ad oc basis depending on airline lounges and hotel clubs. But that has led on to informal get togethers over a meal on many occasions.
I would agree that it is a great idea to attend an AFF function though in nearly 19 years have only managed 2.A golf day in Brisbane and an AFF do in Adelaide only because we had a cruise cancelled. It was though very enjoyable.
It is part of this trip report starting at post 170.

You'll recall the first time we met (with mrs.drron of course) was in Bangkok in 2014, where you found a 'pre-opening' of a swish restaurant!

A few of us Canberra bods meet for coffee occasionally when we manage to organise it.
And I have been lucky to meet Max, the divine cat of Cossie and MsC.
Ooh maybe you could let me know when that will happen if you are open to a new person joining in.

I've been on AFF for about 2 years (at first just lurking quietly, then a few posts and now a lot more comfortable). I have only met a few people in person and in passing at the 747 farewell flight - which I only managed to get a ticket on because of help on AFF. COVID has slowed me down in terms of meeting people in the real world, and not travelling much these days,. However, I really feel that there are a few on here that I know quite well now just from their postings. And I have received a lot of help from people here.

I remember being a visitor that prompted a PER gathering. Meet some wonderful people that I still catch up with when ever I can. :)

I also love some of the coincidences that happen when you have such a widely travelled group, from unexpected dinners in SF, to doing an LAX to JFK flight and it turned out a good number of us in J all knew each other from AFF.

I have not met anyone in person. But I have read so many threads and gathered and (hope contributed) to lots of ideas and information.

I love this site and have learnt so many interesting facts, information, shared in people's joys and sorrows that I feel I do know some of you even though I cannot put a face to a name. :)

AFF at large, what can be the only outcome at the end of an AFF day out.

There is a well organised group who meet for a meal at the Kingston Hotel as posted by Kookaburra. It’s usually advertised on AFF. I have never managed to get there though, my bad!
A few others of us meet for an occasional coffee during the day. COVID and the fact that I decided to rejoin the workforce has meant we haven’t met up for a while. Though certainly will include you in an invite if we do manage to organise something.
