Hi,

Due to work-family commitments, I'll be travelling PER-SGN fairly 2-3 return trips per year, might be nothing for some but that's a fair bit of travel for me. And I think SingaporeAir would be my best option.

Anyhow, I'm researching to see what's the best way to plan for those trips. And from what I have found, it's best to directly redeem a return Business Saver ticket in advance as compared to buying economy flexi then upgrade route.

My calculation is as below:

PER-SGN Biz Saver return = 65,000 Miles + fees
Say it costs me at most 2.5cents per Kris Miles = AUD1,625

That's only a few hundreds more than PER-SGN Economy Flexi return which is approx. AUD1000. And the cost to upgrade from Eco to Biz is a staggering 136,000 miles + fees.

Am I missing something here?

Availability PER-SIN-SGN generally very good (even booking on short notice), outside of Xmas, Tet.

Be prepared to fly SQ225 often on the way back. SQ 215 J availability is harder to come across if booking without much advance.
