Major search underway for missing plane in Sydney's south

Five helicopters, two military night vision sea hawks and a search and rescue infrared chopper are at the scene and have spotted an oil slick in the water.

Other reports of debris in the water.

I wonder if people living in that area heard anything?

It was an MT3 carrying over a tonne of Mail Articles from CBR/SYD to BNE.

I wonder if people living in that area heard anything?

I heard what sounded like a very low flying aircraft over my house around midnight, just before drifting off to sleep. I remarked to Mrs YY that it didn't sound good either. :-|

Wreckage found at the bottom of the ocean is not the missing cargo plane which disappeared off the coast of Sydney.

When floating packages and oil were discovered off Bundeena, police thought they'd discovered the missing freight plane which crashed on Wednesday night.

As it turns out it, it wasn't the wreckage after all.
