The French VAT refund is 20% so the tax refund scheme on shopping is potentially significant if you buy things there.

We are an Australian family but the other half has an EU (not French) passport. If she enters on that can she still get the refund for things that she buys (presumably by showing ticket back to Australia and perhaps proof of Aussie residency)?

You won't get 20% back though - only 12% - and then there's a processing fee
