The gentleman and I stayed here for 3 nights earlier in the month with our 6 month old son. FSHK is one of HK's top hotels and we have stayed there previously and I was hoping it would still be as good as previous experiences.

After catching the Airport Express into town, the gentleman spied a hotel rep holding a Four Seasons board at Hong Kong station. They have a free transfer from the station to the hotel which I was unaware of. It was very helpful considered we had a large case, stroller and baby in tow.

After arriving at the hotel, we sat down in the lobby and were quickly approached by a staff member with a little soft toy for our son. This staff member happened to be the guest experience manager, Mr Shinichi Ichikawa. He was very lovely and approached us several times during our stay, making sure all was okay with both us and our son.

After we checked into our room, a standard harbour view room, we received a visit from housekeeping with some extra stuff for our son. As well as the cot in the room, they brought in a nappy bin, baby bath, baby washes and lotions, steriliser, hot water urn, nappies and another toy. They also placed rubber corners on some of the furniture so my son wouldn't hurt himself if he bumped into the furniture.

During our stay, both the gentleman and I attended the spa. He had a massage which he said was great. I had a facial and manicure/pedicure. The spa is expensive but I have always enjoyed it. They have excellent facilities, you can stay after your treatment and have a spa or sauna.

We ate breakfast everyday at the Blue Bar. The staff were always very friendly, chatting with us and asking about our son. The first day we asked for a particular egg dish. The staff remembered our order and the following two days, we were both asked if that was what they wanted.

We also had organised a baby sitter through the hotel for one night so we could have dinner at Caprice. The baby sitter was a registered nurse, a lovely lady who looked after our son who was a bit unsettled due to the change in scenery. We had a lovely meal at the restaurant. We were seated closest to the windows so we had a view of the harbour. We partook of the degustation menu and got the sommelier to match a couple of wines for us. The cheese board was spectacular and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Now I understand that FSHK is one of the better hotels in HK and is also quite expensive. But that doesn't mean you will get great service. I'm pleased to say that we thought the service and staff were excellent and really went out of their way to make our stay great. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to families (it seems quite business oriented at first) and I will definitely be going back.
