The Federal Government should consider a foreign airline’s willingness to invest in Australia before granting it access to the market, Qantas has said.
In its submission to the Aviation Green Paper, Qantas said more weight should be given to an
airline’s intention to promote and invest in the local market.
"Foreign carriers are naturally predominantly interested in attracting outbound travellers
destined for either their home country or points beyond, i.e feeding traffic to and through
their hubs," Qantas said.
